2008 Union Grove Road Race Results

bink.jpgWow, Saturday was such an incredible day at the races. First of all, the weather held out and the roads were dry, which was great for everyone. Second, our sponsor Martin’s Trailside Express came to the event and hosted a concession stand for all of the racers and spectators to enjoy. We also had a really good, fun day on the bike. Seven of us raced, and the results spoke much of our desire. In the Cat 4 race, Jordan Binkley pulled out yet another win with Manny who finished 5th, and Noah who came in 8th, giving Binkley a bit of a lead out.

In the Category 3/4 race, Jonathan pulled away in a solid break that ended up getting caught right at the end after some of the riders in the group crashed, splitting up the break away group. Kerry took an amazing third (there was a two man break that held to the finish), and Amos took 18th. In the 4/5 race, Bret Levy of our Lancaster Emergency Associates also had a stronger finish than Jordo who went off in a break from the gun with the would be winner only to get caught, as well.

We would really like to thank our friends, family, and everyone at Trailside for coming out to the event and supporting not only our team but the entire sport. We appreciate all of your support and couldn’t function without you. This coming weekend there are no big races in Pennsylvania, but the following weekend hosts the Millport Road Race as well as the Habitat for Humanity Criterium. Full Race Results from this weekend can be found by visiting RedRoseRaces, and photos from the Union Grove Road Race can be found at The ShutterWerks.kerry-win.jpg ld5p6917.jpgts-small-union-08.jpgld5p6852.jpg

ROCK then ROLL: Fine Living Magazine

Something of profound interest to any cyclist in this area can be found in the current issue of Fine Living Magazine, which has a feature on our beloved sport and its exceptional growth in the area. The article just so happens to include two of our racers, Manny Caliz and Jordan Bush. The two are pictured alongside Rich Ruoff, Director of RedRoseRaces, as well as riders from a select few other teams in Pennsylvania: Spinners Cycling, ERA Cycling, the Red Rose Rockets, and Swashbuckler Brewing. A free subscription can be obtained from the magazine’s website, as well as a free download of this issue. fine-living-issue06-29.jpg

This Saturday is the 2008 Union Grove Road Race. In addition to the race being right in our back yard, one of our sponsors, Martin’s Trailside Express, will be hosting a concession stand there for the full duration of the day’s events. They will be serving a full line of hot and cold food, drinks, fruit, and dessert items right at the event. Below is the anticipated menu for Saturday’s race: union-grove-menu.jpg

Also, Trailside will be offering coupons with the purchase of a Combo meal at the race, too! So come cheer us on and support our sponsor, too! We’re racing hot and would love to have friends and family there along side of us! Event times and directions can be found here. See you Saturday!
